Mobile Patrols

Security presence without a permanent officer on site

Not every site needs continuous guarding.

Innovative Security Solutions Mobile Patrols provide a visible security presence through planned visits carried out around the requirements of the property, site or wider operation.

Each patrol is established around agreed checks, access arrangements and escalation procedures, with activity recorded to provide visibility of the visit.

Patrol setup

Building the patrol around the site

What needs to happen before the first visit

A useful patrol is more than driving past a property.

We will establish the patrol requirement around your site, the areas that need checking and what the officer is expected to do during each visit.

01

Understand the requirement

Identify the premises, operating hours, access arrangements and security priorities.

02

Define the patrol

Agree the checks, areas to be visited and any lock, unlock or welfare responsibilities.

03

Set the response instructions

Establish what the officer should do if an irregularity, security concern or other issue is identified.

04

Begin controlled visits

The patrol is incorporated into our mobile security operation and activity is recorded during each visit.

Defined checks. Recorded activity.

The patrol visit

What happens during a patrol visit

Our patrol officers attend in liveried security vehicles and carry out the checks established for the assignment. The current service records arrival, inspected areas and departure electronically.

Depending on the requirement, a visit can include:

01

External patrols

Checking agreed external areas, access points, perimeter conditions and signs of unusual activity.

02

Internal patrols

Inspecting agreed areas within the building where access has been authorised.

03

Lock & unlock

Opening or securing premises at agreed times and carrying out the associated site checks.

04

Building welfare checks

Checking defined aspects of the premises where the client requires periodic oversight.

05

Lone-worker checks

Providing agreed security visits or checks where people are working independently on site.

06

Meter readings

Recording agreed utility readings as part of the visit where this forms part of the assignment.

Recorded patrol activity

A patrol the client can verify

Visibility beyond the visit itself

A mobile patrol only has value if the agreed activity is actually carried out.

We currently use handheld electronic systems and RFID-based checkpoints to record patrol activity, including arrival, areas inspected and departure.

This creates an operational record of the visit rather than relying solely on a handwritten statement that a patrol took place.

01

Arrival

Visit begins and attendance is recorded.

02

Patrol activity

Agreed areas and checkpoints are inspected.

03

Departure

Completion of the visit is recorded.

04

Reporting

Relevant activity or exceptions can be communicated.

A patrol should leave evidence that it happened.

Exceptions & escalation

When something is not as expected

The patrol does not end with identifying the problem

If an officer finds an irregularity during a visit, they work to the pre-agreed instructions and escalation arrangements for that assignment. All identified incidents during patrols are documented and reported to the nominated client contacts.

The response will depend on what has been found and the responsibilities established for the site.

01

Our officer identifies an issue

02

Checks the agreed site instructions

03

Takes the appropriate action within the assignment

04

Escalates where required

05

Records and reports the incident

This might relate to an unsecured access point, evidence of interference, suspicious activity, damage or another condition the patrol has been instructed to identify.

Tell us what needs checking

If you are considering mobile patrols, the useful starting point is the site itself: when it is occupied, when it is vulnerable, what needs checking and what should happen if something is found.

Our Operations teams will review the requirement with you and determine whether mobile patrols, another security capability or a combination of services is the appropriate approach.
