Key Holding & Alarm Response

When the alarm activates, your staff don't have to attend

Innovative Security Solutions provides 24/7 key holding and alarm response, giving your organisation a professional security response route when an activation or out-of-hours attendance is required.

24/7 response

A professional attendance route when your organisation needs it.

Out-of-hours responsibility

Take your people out of the response chain

Without an external response arrangement, an alarm can become an employee’s problem. Key holding changes who carries that responsibility when the premises are closed.

Without a response provider

01
Alarm activates outside normal working hours
02
Employee or manager receives the call
03
They travel to the premises
04
They investigate an unknown situation

The security incident becomes an employee attendance problem.

With our key holding & response

01
Alarm activation initiates the agreed response route
02
One of our response officers attends
03
The premises are checked against the response instructions
04
Required action is taken and the client is updated

Operational responsibility stays with people equipped to respond.

Before an alarm happens

The response is agreed before you need it

We establish the practical information needed to attend the premises and respond in line with the client’s requirements.

We don’t decide what to do for the first time when the alarm goes off.

Premises

Site & access information

Relevant premises details, access arrangements and areas the responding officer may need to inspect.

Contacts

Who needs to know

The people to be contacted and the circumstances in which escalation is required.

Instructions

What the officer should do

Agreed actions and limits for different situations encountered during attendance.

Keys

Authorised access

Keys are held securely so the responding officer can gain authorised access when required.

Live response

An alarm activates. What happens next?

The response moves through a defined attendance and escalation journey — from activation through to securing the premises and reporting what happened.

01 — RESPONSE INITIATED

Attendance is triggered

One of our response officers is deployed in accordance with the agreed arrangement.

02 — OFFICER ATTENDS

Authorised access is available

The officer attends the premises with access provided through the keyholding arrangement.

03 — SITE CHECKED

The cause is investigated

The officer checks the premises and attempts to establish the reason for the activation.

04 — ACTION TAKEN

The response follows what is found

The officer follows the agreed instructions, deals with the immediate issue where appropriate or escalates the incident.

05 — ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Further attendance can be coordinated

Where required, external support such as police, repair contractors or additional guarding can be brought into the response.

06 — PREMISES SECURED

The site is left secure

Before the attendance is completed, the officer works to leave the premises secure in line with the response arrangements.

07 — INCIDENT REPORTED

The client can see what happened

The attendance and relevant actions are recorded so the organisation has visibility of the incident and response.

Escalation

Attendance needs a route beyond simply discovering the problem.

When something is found

What if the alarm is genuine?

Not every activation has the same outcome. The response depends on what the officer finds and the responsibilities agreed for the premises.

False or accidental activation

The premises are checked and the alarm is dealt with in line with the agreed instructions.

Evidence of a break-in or security incident

The incident is escalated and the relevant external or client contacts can be involved.

Damage to a door, lock or access point

Repair or lock-changing support can be coordinated where required.

Premises cannot immediately be secured

Additional guarding can be arranged where continued physical security is required.

Beyond alarm activation

Authorised access when your organisation needs it

The same controlled keyholding arrangement can support other agreed out-of-hours requirements.
