Our security officers are employed directly by Innovative Security Solutions. We do not rely on subcontracted guarding. That gives us greater control over recruitment, training, briefing, supervision and the standards delivered on site, while helping teams understand the venue, event format and responsibilities expected during the deployment.

The security requirement changes with the event

A delegate-led conference, trade exhibition, motorsport event and charity marathon can all involve large numbers of people but create very different operating conditions. We look beyond attendance figures to understand how the event is built, who is involved, how the programme changes through the day and what the venue or site needs to keep operating.

We work with organisers to understand how the event is intended to run, what security needs to support and where responsibilities sit between the organiser, venue and other operational teams. From planning and briefing through to live delivery, the security arrangement is kept connected to the wider event operation.

Planning & operational briefing

We work with nominated organiser and venue contacts to establish the event format, programme, expected attendance, venue arrangements, access requirements, key contacts and any known operational concerns so the security team understands what it is there to support.

Working with the organiser during the event

During live delivery, our supervisors and managers remain in contact with nominated organiser and venue contacts so changes, incidents or additional requirements can be dealt with through agreed communication and escalation routes.

Communication, changes & escalation

Clear communication and decision routes help the security team respond when timings, access arrangements, programme activity or operational priorities change during the event.

Review, feedback & future events

After the event, relevant incidents, operational observations and service feedback can be reviewed with the organiser. For recurring events or programmes, this helps inform future planning and identify where arrangements may need to change.

Where teams are deployed, the service is supported by our control room, supervisors and designated management contacts. Briefings, supervision, escalation arrangements and reporting are established around the event plan, venue procedures and agreed responsibilities.

Our control room provides an operational point of contact throughout the deployment, supporting welfare checks, incident escalation and communication where further action or management input is required.

Event & venue supervision

Supervisors and managers remain involved in the live operation, checking deployment, officer performance, site instructions and whether the security arrangement continues to reflect what is happening on the ground.

Organiser & venue coordination

Our designated contacts stay connected with the organiser and venue team so operational changes, programme updates, access arrangements and additional requirements can be reflected in the security operation.

Emergency & evacuation procedures

Officers are briefed on the agreed emergency and evacuation arrangements, including key contacts, routes, assembly points and the responsibilities security is expected to carry during an incident.

Reporting & post-event visibility

Incidents, actions and relevant operational activity are recorded and reported to the agreed client contacts. Any issues or recurring observations that may affect future events can then be reviewed with the organiser.

Event security and crowd safety supporting Birmingham’s St Patrick’s Day Parade

Birmingham’s St Patrick’s Day Parade returned to Digbeth on 17 March 2024, bringing one of the city’s major public events back into the heart of Birmingham’s Irish Quarter. The two-day national championship brought together nearly 800 registered judoka from clubs across Great Britain, with Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior and Senior competition taking place across seven mats under one roof.
